August 5, 2021UK Rapper Dave has released his long-awaited album We’re All Alone in This Together.
The new album has landed the biggest opening week in 2021.
In 2019 Dave’s last album Psychodrama had both raving reviews and the numbers to match topping the charts in his debut week as well as winning album of the year at the 2020 Brit awards. So far the star has last been reported to receive more than 74,000 sales.
The album features a range of popular artists from different genres adding a refreshing and eclectic feel to the album. The features include James Blake, Snoh Aalegra, Afrobeats icon WizKid, Boj, and Stormzy an Idol of Daves. Stormzy has been looked up to by many rappers as the man to look up to in the UK Rap scene not only for his music but his words of wisdom and work for the youth.
Dave tweeted:
Stormzy you know. My idol. I paid for tickets for this mans dreamers disease show as a kid. I rapped to him when he was a judge for rising stars. For us to even be in the same room let alone same room. The only advice he gives me is stay close to God. Keep him close in this life.

Dave,the master of wordplay
The album is insightful, conscious and filled with Dave’s smart and witty wordplay. The rapper uses the album to speak on a range of topics from his romantic relationships, their failures and successes to his life growing up with his mother to religious views and human rights issues. Dave has always been one to use his platform and rhyming abilities to speak on social and cultural issues. This has gained him a respectful position in not only the world of UK rap but simply music. His sound and talent transcends genres and speaks to the heart. We’ve heard musicians using voice notes as interludes in their songs as a way to add real emotion to their songs however Dave uses voice notes to brings snippets of wisdom and inspiration keeping it 100% real.
This year Dave celebrated his 23rd birthday and has had much more to celebrate, having been featured on GQ’s cover and creating a killer album described by the Guardian as an eerie, anguished triumph. Dave has also teamed up with London based brand Trapstar to create a collection of pieces based on his album cover.
Despite his age, Dave has inspired many people to use their creative skills to tell their stories and the stories of communities whose voices have been silenced.
