4 steps to defeating decision fatigue

August 24, 2021The early stages of starting a new project or business can often be one of the hardest stages, with so many vital decisions to make that will likely affect the future of your business. The worst thing you can do is burn out and feel defeated before you’ve even started. Here are 4 simple tips to help you avoid decision fatigue.
Trust your instincts
Decision making takes practice and confidence. When you make a decision stick to it, learn to trust your instincts the more you do the shorter time it will take you to make a choice and stick to it.
Make routines
Having a set routine for the day helps to eliminate unnecessarily decision making, such as when to wake up, when to shower, when to make a to-do list, what to wear etc. Why not make life easier and set times for when to do the boring everyday tasks that tend to add up and drain your energy before the day has even begun.
Optimize your time
We’ve all heard the typical millionaire mindset tips and one of the biggest ones is optimizing your time. Have systems in place that work for you so you don’t have to constantly make decisions. For example instead of having to decide what time and days to post on social media every day, create a social media calendar and plan ahead of the times, dates and even captions for the post. This will save alot of time and energy that you can spend on more important decisions.
Set deadlines
Decision-making fatigue can often creep up on you when you least expect it and when you most need the skill … Pretty inconvenient right. One way to avoid your decisions pilling up on you in one go is to set deadlines in order to space out when different important decisions are made. Giving you ample thinking time and the ability to focus on one thing at a time.
