July 20, 2021Pop, disco, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa collaborates with sports company Puma to launch the new ‘Mayze’ sneaker. The latest sneaker includes a cutting-edge design with a larger platform, incorporating black and gold detailing.
The twenty-five-year-old artist has never been one to shy away from the crowd with her look; with 70’s and 90’s tones, combined with modern day attire, Lipa likes to make a statement. ‘I like how powerful fashion makes me feel. I live for that grungy-prissy juxtaposition that Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Drew Barrymore wore in the ’90’s.’Let’s take a look behind the multi-award-winning singer’s fashion background.
Lipa has not been starved of starring centre stage on magazine covers over the years. The singer first signed with Next Models and later landed the cover for Elle’s ‘Boom Boom Thick’ editorial in 2016. From then onwards Lipa was featured on Vogue, British GQ, a Rolling Stone editorial and has recently announced that she is the face of Versace’s Winter Collection.
Puma was founded in 1924 by Rudolf and Adi Dassler in Germany, in order to produce sportswear and footwear which could also create a striking fashion statement. After years of attempting new footwear models and designs, Puma has chosen to keep their elements simple yet stylish, to be the timeless sportswear brand of today. With the business motto ‘to explore relentlessly, predict constantly and to influence by bringing new innovations to athletes.’
Previously, Puma has collaborated with some of the biggest music and fashion influencers including Alexander McQueen, KITH and Solange Knowles. The partnership between Dua Lipa and Puma, has now reinvigorated the sportswear brand, making it appeal to every generation and enabling the singer to sustain her 90’s staple sports style. ‘Forever faster drives us to stay ahead.’
Where will Lipa’s look venture to next and what’s next in store for Puma designs?
