Jamil has been a huge part of the Hip Hop community for decades and his influence has impacted many photographers and even brought to light trends such as the ghetto Fabulous fashion trend. It has always been about uplifting the community for Jamil, and about creating awareness and presenting Hip Hop culture in a completely different light to what was being shown in the media. Hip Hop brought joy and life to so many people when it first started and still does this part was unfortunately hidden by mainstream media for a while.

The New York Hip Hop scene not only touched the music and fashion scene but gave so much to New York and now the world.
All products are 100% recyclable and have been created using classic analogue methods.
For the first T-shirt of the series, Jamil teamed up with Nigerian-American artist Emeka Alams from Gold Coast Trading Co. The design features a mix between New York boldness and hints from the motherland mixed with BTS notes and technical details for the analogue photo nerds. Keeping it local all products have been hand screen printed in Jamil’s hometown Copenhagen.
Using sustainable methods played a crucial part in the production process resulting in the best outcome, a product that is as authentic and conscious as the images Jamil captures.
