Publicist and producer Ernest Dukes represents some of Hollywood’s most high-profile personalities, but his grind to make that happen sets him apart. As he sits at the MyComeUp offices dressed in a green camo hoodie, he makes that struggle crystal clear. “Whenever I shared my dreams with people,” he says of his time growing up in a small Spanish-speaking town in Orange County, “people would say they were too big.” Dukes told the same detractors he had plans to work in Hollywood; that he would be “Puffy Winfrey,” combination of Puff Daddy and Oprah.
