Get to know Maya Jama

Maya Jama is a 27-year-old British presenter and tv personality. You may have seen her presenting tv shows such as the Circle, True Love or True Lies. In 2018 Jama joined the BBC Radio 1 team presenting Radio 1’s greatest hits which led her to getting her own show on BBC Radio 1 on Friday and Saturday. In 2021 the young presenter got the opportunity to host the second season of makeup competition show Glow Up. Maya Jama was born and raised in Bristol with a rich heritage with her father being Somali and her mother being Swedish. Making the big move to the capital Maja up and left Bristol moving to London in 2012 to pursue a career in the media industry with her first passion being acting. After a few doors being closed doors and doors being opened to other opportunities Maya discovered she had a talent for presenting and pivoted after seeing a better future for her as a presenter.

Beyond her career presenting Maya Jama has collaborated with brands such as Adidas, JD sports and even created a collection with fast fashion brand Pretty Little Thing
