The Receipts podcast set to launch first book in July

June 9, 2021

Popular podcast The Receipts has made waves particularly in the UK but with fans across the world. The podcast resonates with many women and men and people have fallen in love with the three girls ability to be candid, give great advice and a whole lot of laughs. The podcast is hosted by  Tolani Shoneye, Audrey Indome, and Milena Sanchez. If you are not familiar with the podcast, the girls touch on various dilemma’s from relationship difficulties, friendship drama and complex family dynamics. The girls hope that by sharing their own experiences they can help others as well as bring some joy and laughter to their large audience.

How the podcast came to life

The girls met on Twitter and after meeting in person to discuss the idea of creating a podcast together and ending up talking for hours on end they knew it was meant to be and began the podcast in 2016 and are still going strong having been ranked  UK’s 3rd most popular comedy podcast on Spotify in 2020

Just a few of the podcasts successes include having five sold-out live shows in London and Birmingham and joining BBC 1xtra for a Sunday spot at 9 pm. Being British women of colour the girls talk about their experiences from a perspective that may not be seen or heard in mainstream media so it’s both refreshing and also inspiring for other young women of colour with aspirations to either start a podcast themselves or to simply be as honest and brave as the three of them truly are.

On July the 8th The Receipts podcast trio will be releasing their first book titled Keep The Receipts: Three Women, Real Talk, No Filter.

While showcasing the cover of the book the girls revealed what we can expect from the book which will be a deeper insight into their own personal lives and plenty of ‘tea spilt’ and of course you can expect the girls to keep it real, uplift women and remind every woman of their worth.

The girls are often referred to as big sisters from women writing in for advice, the Recpeits podcast has certainly worked hard to craft an intimate bond between listeners creating a lifelong sisterhood every woman has always wanted to be a part of.
