Yam Carnival fails to deliver, is it over for SMADE entertainment?

This year’s Yam Carnival failed to meet expectations with festival-goers complaining about poor sound quality, food running out and disorganisation causing artists to miss their set. The lineup had a variety of artists within an array of genres from afrobeats star DaVido, R&B singer Kelani, Nao, NSG, and a host of incredible South African house Dj’s and artists such as Focaslistic and Virgo Deep who later joined DaVido in a final performance.

Singer IAMDDB took to Instagram to show her frustration with only being offered a 10-minute set. Believing her fans deserved better she turned down the set. 

Khelani also headed to Twitter to show her frustration despite trying her best to give her fans a good show.

She tweeted ” “Yam carnival crowd, they owe you a f***ing concert!”

The singer who has a large fan base in the UK was only able to play four songs leaving everyone was underwhelmed on the main stage.

Dancehall legend Beenie man brought amazing vibes but the sound team let him down causing fans to repeatedly chant “louder”.  However, the second smaller stage had much better sound and people were able to enjoy themselves.

One unhappy Yam Carnival goer tweeted:

“Shout out to Yam Carnival for having 2-hour queues for food, nonsensical lineup clashes, terrible sound on the main stage, and causing Kehlani to be over 40 minutes late then cutting her set after 4 songs. £80 for hands down the worst festival I’ve ever been to, great job guys!”

Customers have taken to Twitter and Instagram to demand a refund from another SMADE event.  SMADE entertainment has been on the firing line previously due to issues with refunds for the last afronation event cancelled due to COVID. The first Afronation festival took place in Portugal and has gone down in history with many claiming it was the best event they had ever attended and nothing could top it. It seems the SMADE team have let their loyal customers down. How will they win back customers trust?
